What Do Our Mentors Have to Say?

  • What I liked about the program was the unique focus on both future-proof skills and mentor-mentee relationships. Wavemakers made sure to induce a growth and inclusive learning environment. In addition to mentees, we mentors also developed skills which we can use in the workplace while working with teams, and in daily life.

  • I find it really interesting to work with young people - they are very different from when I was their age, and I like that about them. They ask questions and question things a lot. [...] There’s not a huge age difference, but there’s definitely a generational difference. [...] It’s great to get their feedback and learn from them.

  • [The greatest benefit to participating in this program was] learning that I can adapt myself to such an exotic facilitation setting, that students appreciated my approach with them and that I had fun collaborating with the Wavemakers team.

    Matt, Wavemakers Mentor

  • I liked to connect with new people and work together to brainstorm new ideas for the project. I love the energy of the students as well as other people in the program that [are always] there to support throughout the mentorship experience.

    Lori, Wavemakers Mentor

  • [The thing I enjoyed the most was] connecting with students, guiding motivated and ambitious individuals through finding a real life solution to a real life problem.

    Dimitra, Wavemakers Mentor

  • [The greatest benefit to participating in this program is] knowing that I might have a small touch on helping young people build a future, [and] learning about a great program.
