Outreach Instructions

Review the sample survey/email, call scripts and questions to be asked - feel free to edit the script and make it your own!

Decide as a team if you would like to make any changes (update the scripts directly with your changes). 

  • Make sure to ask the five critical questions provided below

  • Discuss with your team if there is possibly one more question you would like answered (make it simple and concise). 

  • Ensure that everyone must agree to share the same prototype description (first version from the workbook) and questions when collecting feedback. 

Reach out to your potential users as soon as possible. Think about what might be the best way to try and reach them, and explore multiple channels to try to collect feedback. 

A few things to consider:

  • Have a pen and paper or laptop ready to take notes if they can respond on the spot.

  • Plan ahead with your ask if they are not initially available or if you need to go through a gatekeeper (reception or possibly a general email first).

    • Let your user know approximately how much time it will take them to complete/for the call, and respect their time.

    • To get a faster response, call your potential user.

Confirm the plan as a team for reaching out to potential users and have team members populate the table below to confirm who they are contacting. Be ready to populate user feedback between Session 5 and Session 6 to reflect on

  • What you learned

  • What surprised you, and 

  • What you want to incorporate
